Alderney Farmer's Market
For this project, our class was asked to design a logo for the Alderney Farmer’s Market, which is held at Alderney Landing in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The goal was to create a visual identity that captured the spirit of the market—think nature, hard work, and a welcoming, community vibe.
I focused on creating a logo that felt warm and approachable, while still tying in natural elements like plants, produce, and the waterfront setting. I wanted it to reflect the effort and pride that local farmers and makers put into their work, so I used organic shapes and a hand-drawn feel to keep things grounded and real.
The colour palette leaned into earthy tones—greens, warm browns, and soft oranges—to give an organic look. I also made sure the design would work well across different formats, from signage and tote bags to social media and print materials.
It was a great chance to design something for our local community, and it taught me how to visually communicate values our culture's friendly and welcoming nature to the right audience.
