Killing Eve Poster Set
For this project, our class had to choose a TV show and design four different posters for it, each one in the style of a different historical graphic design movement or artist. I picked Killing Eve—the mix of drama, dark humour, and strong visuals made it perfect for this kind of exploration.
My favourite of the bunch was a poster of Villanelle holding a gun in the foreground, done in the style of Heroic Realism. Villanelle is far from the hero of the story—rather the antihero who works for the villains—but from the right perspective, she can be presented as strong empowering. I leaned into the sketchy style of the poster I was emulating, and created the same smoky contrast of the background, too—super fun to play with.
I also created posters in the styles of Dada (chaotic and collage-heavy), Plakatstil (clean, minimal, bold shapes), and one inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s work, with decorative patterns and delicate linework. It was a great exercise in adapting different visual languages while keeping the tone of the show intact.
Definitely one of those projects that stretched my creativity in the best way.
