Redfish Poster
For this class project, we had to design something based on a play called Redfish, which is aimed at teenagers and deals with themes of depression. It’s a pretty heavy play, but it also has moments of humour and weirdness that give it a unique tone.
In the play, dead fish are actually used as a metaphor for depression, so I leaned into that and visualized it pretty literally. I went with a rough, cartoonish illustration style—nothing too polished—because I felt like it matched the raw, kind of absurd feeling of the play. It also helped make the darker subject matter more approachable and relatable for a younger audience.
It was one of those projects where the weirdness of the concept really worked in my favour, and it gave me a chance to play around with style and tone in a way that felt meaningful.
